LogTide

Cookie Policy

Last updated: February 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how LogTide uses cookies and similar technologies. The short version: we don't use cookies.

1. Our Approach

LogTide is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not use cookies for tracking, advertising, analytics, or any other purpose. We do not use third-party cookies of any kind.

2. Browser Storage We Use

While we do not use cookies, we use localStorage (a browser storage mechanism) for the following purposes:

Storage Key Purpose Data Stored Duration
theme Display preference "light" or "dark" Until cleared by you
logtide_auth Authentication (app only) Session token and user info Until logout or 30-day expiry

Important: localStorage data is stored entirely in your browser and is never sent to third-party servers. It does not track you across websites.

3. How localStorage Differs from Cookies

  • Cookies are automatically sent with every HTTP request to the server, enabling tracking across pages and sessions
  • localStorage is only accessible by JavaScript on the same domain and is never automatically transmitted to any server

By using localStorage instead of cookies, we ensure that no data is sent to our servers beyond what you explicitly submit.

4. Third-Party Services

We do not use any third-party services that set cookies or track users on our website. Web fonts are self-hosted and served directly from our servers — no external font services are contacted when you visit our site.

5. No Cookie Banner Required

Since LogTide does not use cookies, no cookie consent banner is required under the EU ePrivacy Directive or GDPR. We provide this policy for full transparency about how your browser interacts with our service.

6. Self-Hosted Deployments

If you self-host LogTide, cookie behavior depends on your own configuration. The default LogTide installation does not set any cookies.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we ever introduce cookies in the future, we will update this policy and implement appropriate consent mechanisms as required by law.
